Christmas Inspiration!

I have been a very bad blogger these last few days....I have obviously been having too good a time celebrating my birthday. It has been so wonderful reading the sweet messages people have left. Thank you for making my Birthday extra special! This weekend I plan to spend my spare time visiting everyone to see what amazing things you have all been doing whilst I have been doing, well, not very much!

The kids and I are still having fun decorating the house for the Christmas holidays so I just wanted to post some pictures  that have inspired me when decorating this year.

 From BHG

I love this idea-so simple yet so effective.

I will definitely be doing this.

Just right for an Aussie Christmas!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend-I will be finding my glass cake platter and making that display!

Best wishes,
Natasha In Oz

  1. Gorgeous images Natasha - very inspiring too....and also I just wanted to say 'welcome' and thank your for joining my (very little!) band of merry followers! xx

  2. That is beautiful Natasha! My littlest one spontaneously put Christmas carols on last night and I got teary. Christmas is so much more joyous in Aussie than it is here... You have given me a push to start the cheer!

  3. Hi Natasha. Your blog sparked a little excitement in me regarding Christmas...until now I've hardly had time to entertain the thought that it's nearly upon us. I must make a wreath this year. Please show us how the platter turns out.
Thanks for the compliment re my profile pic. I was hesitant as I didn't want to spoil the illusion I may have created, haha, but I know how much I like to put a face to someone, like you said.
    Have a fabulous weekend.

  4. Hi Ange! My littlest one is constantly playing Human Nature singing Auld Lange Syne and Ella Fitzgerald! We are so ready for Christmas here!
    Best wishes, Natasha.

  5. Please, never apologize for how you blog. IMHO, we all blog, as feels right to/for us.

Come to think of it, why would we do anything else?

  6. Some really good ideas. Thanks for sharing:)

  7. I love placing ornaments in bowls and using them as centerpieces. We have a box full of old ornaments from husband's grandmother, but there's not enough room on our tree. So, I fill beautiful crystal bowl with them. Easy and festive!

  8. Ooooh. I'm still in the 30-days of THanksgiving. But I peeked and oooooh some good ideas. I love the piano and the stackable plate thing (can't think of what it's called) w/the ornaments. I have a fold-out thing ... oh what ARE they called? Might try that. See ya next time, Jenn.

  9. What lovely holiday decor ideas! I really liked the velvet bow on the doorknob -- we have such great old doorknobs and iron rimlocks on our doors here; I think lovely bows would be just the thing for Christmas!
I'll bet it will be the first time our doorknobs get all gussied up for Santa!

Thanks for visiting and leaving such a sweet comment! And I also agree with Jane -- one can never begin one's holiday weight gain too early. Let's all beat the rush!

    have a lovely weekend!

  10. Don't feel bad ......I too have neglected my fellow bloggers last week. But this is am amazing collection of images here, I think you have made it up. Thanks for visiting me whilst I was away.

  11. we read the same magazine...lovely pictures, thank you for coming cathrrine

  12. I try not to look at too many of those perfect pictures because there is no way my home will be perfect for the holidays but it will be filled with blessings and many, many people that I am so thankful for each and every day☺

  13. Oh my heavens! You are inspiring me so much! I can't wait to get started on my own house!

  14. Stunning... love the simplicity of them all!

  15. I love that little lone pine cone with the ribbon. Beautiful. Thanks for visiting Beach Vintage whilst I was away.

  16. Today I have been feeling a bit nervous about Christmas, it seems to have crept up so fast. I loved your pics they reminded me what I love about the season and brought back the excitement, thanks cheers Katherine

  19. Welcome back and thanks for visiting with me. I did love all of these images, even got a few ideas for my home.

  20. Great inspiration pictures - thanks for sharing. Happy Birthday. Thanks for visiting and to answer your question - the greenhouse is sort of hidden behind a dollhouse right now to make room for another project.

  21. Your holiday pictures inspire me. I just arrived in London today where I hope to get some more inspiration for my blog and see some Christmas decorations. I adore you quote by Norman Vincent Peale--it is a magical time of the year, I agree.

    Wishing you a great week,

  22. I love the pictures you chose, all of these ideas are so do-able! I have had to stop looking and obsessing about decorating magazines, as my house may never fully achieve the look in those pictures. What it does have is warmth, happiness and many "thrifted/frugal" finds that make my house a home.

Thank you for sharing. Love your blog!

  23. WOW !!! Your blog loaded in record time, girlfriend. Whatever you did...YOU DID GOOD. My thanks to you for making it such a pleasure to come visit with you!!
    hugs, bj
