Say G'Day Saturday ~ Rugby and Father's Day!

G'Day dear friends and welcome to another Say G'Day Saturday Linky Party!

I'm glad you visited because I have some pictures to share from a special Father's Day party we had at our place on the weekend.

I don't know why Father's Day is celebrated in September over here but it sure is a great time of year to have a family gathering!

I found some yummy recipes for the party such as:

Orange and Fennel Salad via Food Network.com

Potato, spring onion, dill & cheese frittata via bbcgoodfood.com

and

Nigella's Chocolate Guinness Cake ~ nigella.com

Now, I'm not usually one to boast but I think my versions of these pins were pretty darn yummy!

Orange and Fennel Salad

Potato, spring onion, dill & cheese frittata

Nigella's Chocolate Guinness Cake

I also served some cold cuts and fresh bread and we had a good old fashioned ploughman's lunch fit for any dad!

It was such a fun party and to top off the day, the men and boys all went to the football after lunch while the female folk stayed behind to clean up and enjoy an extra treat!

I think everyone had a great day, not just the Fathers!

Now since this is a Father's Day post, this week I have chosen to share some clips that I know Mr Attorney will enjoy. I probably won't see very much him this weekend because he and Big Al will be glued to the TV watching the Rugby World Cup!

I know that they will be watching the New Zealand games in particular because, like many people, they love watching the haka!

I'm even excited about the rugby world cup after watching all of this!

I'm even going to watch a few games too, because I just love the game. It has nothing to do with the good looking players at all...

Richie McCaw

Jonny Wilkinson
Jonny Wilkinson ~ England

Pat McCabe
Pat McCabe ~ Australia

Yep, I just love watching Rugby!

So, what have you been up to this week? If you would like to link up your favourite recipe, tutorial, idea or Pinterest round up post just add the url of your particular blog post that you would like us to visit to the Linky tool below.

Hi Natasha - what a lovely hostess you are - all those Fathers were so lucky to have you hold their celebration!

And - LOVE those ruby photos and those dashing players! I'm not really aware of rugby that much being in the States, so I appreciate the broadening of my horizons ;o)

Enjoy the Spring!

Happy Father's Day! Looks like you all had a feast! Great photos and pins. Really enjoyed the Rugby clips, too. Now, that's football! In comparison, our football is kinda woosie - all the padding, helmets, etc!

Nigella's Guinness cake cupcakes look sinful! I want some! I think it;s nice to celebrate Father's Day in September. We celebrate in June, and it is too close to Mother's Day, I think.

I do not have a Pinterest account. I am scared that if I start, I won't stop, and then I will get nothing else done!!! *but I am so tempted*

It's wild you guys celebrate Father's Day in September - but then again, it's your spring, so it makes (some) sense! :) Looks like everyone had so much fun!! And the food you pinned (and ate) looks drool-worthy. :) I've been such a slacker in the pinning department - I need to get busy! :) Have a great week, Natasha! :)

Hi Natasha!

What a gracious way to thank the people who host the parties that you join...very nicely said!

Your versions of all the food looks FABULOUS! If you cannot find the coconut pudding & the Dream Whip to make my pie, I'll be happy to mail them to you.
We used to mail things to DH's son, who lives in Queensland, all the time.
BTW, they're expecting their 1st baby!! This will make #14 grandchild for us. ~~big smile~~

I must get busy & join Pinterest. Seems like everybody is doing it!

fondly,
Rett

Oh & we always laughed when Jeff sent his Dad a "Fathers Day" card in September. For awhile there, we didn't realize that you didn't celebrate it in a different month than us. We just thought he was mailing it LATE! LOL
