Say G'day Saturday Linky Party ~ Halloween!

Hello my dear friends and welcome to this week's Say G'Day Saturday Linky Party!

Say G'day Saturday Linky Party ~ Halloween!

I'm sure you would have guessed that like everyone else in blogland, this week's Party will be dedicated to all things Halloween! However, before I start sharing some Halloween pins I just want to share some pictures from a Halloween party I threw for the kids last year. As I mentioned last week, Australians don't really celebrate Halloween so this party is probably very low-key in comparison to the way that my American friends celebrate but it was still a heap of fun for everyone who came.

We won't be having a Halloween party this year as we are doing something special at our Church so I will just have to virtually celebrate with all of my bloggy friends this weekend!

Say G'Day Saturday Party ~ A Pink Party for Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Hello and welcome this weekend's Say G'Day Saturday Linky Party!

Natasha In Oz

If you read my last post you would have seen that this week has been a very sad week for our family so I hope you will for give me if I haven't visited you this week. A very dear friend of ours passed away this week from breast cancer. It seems so pertinent but also very poignant that Sue passed away in October, the month that is dedicated to breast cancer cancer research. I am therefore posting a Pink post in honour of our dear friend Sue and all of the amazing women who are fighting or have fought this terrible disease.

For Sue...

Please excuse me for not being my usual positive and happy self today....my heart is filled with sadness.

Yesterday a very dear family friend passed away.... from breast cancer.

I really don't feel like blogging today but I also feel like I need to so I can somehow say goodbye....

We didn't have our usual monthly chat about politics, religion, cooking, England and soccer this month because she was too sick to talk on the phone.

We didn't have a chance to tell her how much she meant to us because her decline was so intensely rapid....she was only diagnosed with the cancer in April.

We can't say goodbye in person because she lived in England.

She was only 47.

So, today I am dedicating this post to our dear friend Sue.

We love you, Sue!

The day God called you home

God looked around his garden
And He found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this earth,
And saw your tired face.

He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.

He saw that the road was getting rough.
And the hills are hard to climb,
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered "Peace be thine".

It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn’t go alone
For part of us went with you
That day that God called you home

I'll be back again tomorrow for my regular Say G'day Saturday Link up. It will be very pink in honour of Sue and all of the other brave women who have fought and who are still fighting this terrible illness.

Blessings and best wishes,

Natasha In Oz

Wordless Wednesday ~ 3 Wise Monkeys!

See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.

Wade, Holly and John...the 3 Wise (and green) monkeys!

The Three Wise Monkeys embody the proverbial principle to "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil". The three monkeys are Mizaru, covering his eyes, who sees no evil; Kikazaru, covering his ears, who hears no evil; and Iwazaru, covering his mouth, who speaks no evil.

The Three Wise Monkeys remind us all to be of
good mind, speech and action.

Aren't I lucky to have such wise monkeys souls in my family!

Wishing you a happy Wednesday!
I hope the rest of the week is fabulous for you.

Say G'day Saturday Linky Party!

Hello my dear friends and welcome this weekend's Say G'day Saturday Linky Party!

This week has been a super-busy week for our whole family. I have also completed a week of substitute teaching so haven't has as much time for blogging or visiting my bloggy friends. I did find a little bit of time to do a quick Pink post for October  so if you have a moment please check it out.

Wordless Wednesday ~ Think Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness.

October is the official Breast Cancer Awareness Month and is all about increasing the awareness of the importance of early breast cancer detection.

Via Joni & Friends

The National Breast Cancer Awareness (NBCAM) program was founded in 1985 by Zeneca. Set up as a weeklong campaign aimed at promoting mammography as the most effective weapon in the fight against breast cancer. The NBCAM has now grown to an international phenomenon, with events and activities each October which increase awareness, and raise funds at the same time.

Via National Breast Cancer

As this is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to honor those whose lives have been touched through this disease, I found 5 quotes about faith, hope and strength.

May all beings everywhere plagued with sufferings of body and mind quickly be freed from their illnesses. May those frightened cease to be afraid, and may those bound be free. May the powerless find power, and may people think of befriending one another.

Say G'day Saturday Linky Party!

Hello my dear friends and welcome to this weekend's Say G'Day Saturday Linky Party at Natasha In Oz.com

Poofy Cheeks

I have really enjoyed exploring the wonderful pictures, recipes, crafts, songs and ideas that people have been sharing.

This week I am sharing some very beautiful ideas from, Katie, who has the wonderful blog Team Skelley, The Blog.  Katie is such a great bloggy friend and if I ever make it back to the US she is someone I would definitely love to meet in "Real Life". Katie blogs about her family, her basset hound, Baxter Clyde, decorating, Pinterest and music. She has actually been sharing songs on her blog for quite some time and she has always found the time to link her musical posts to my Sunday Song link ups and now to my Pinning & Singing Party. She is also very much in to shopping and her Pinterest boards contain wonderful images of shoes, purses, clothes and jewels!  She has even blogged about a blouse she bought and then modelled it for us in her What I wore Wednesday post!

If you haven't already met Katie, please do pop by and visit her blog. You will love her writing style, her warmth, her honesty and her passion for yoga. You will also meet a truly wonderful new blogging friend!

Thanks for being a fabulous Pinning & Singing Blogger
and friend, Katie!

I hope you enjoy checking out a few of Katie's Pinterest Pins and while you do I also hope you enjoy one of my favourite songs that Katie has also featured on one of her Tunes for Tuesday Posts, Sarah McLachlan's - Blackbird.
