I haven't posted anything for a couple of days and I haven't even had any time to catch my breath and just think. I really can't believe that the first week of the school holidays has been and gone. I have only got one more week left to share some quality time with the family before it is time to go back to school. The last few days have been wonderful, despite the fact that the new curtains were wrong and had to be re-done!

Dust Storm Down Under
I haven't posted anything for a few days as we have been so happy relaxing, catching up with family and friends and enjoying the warm weather. The kids have had friends over, my mum and sisters came over for lunch yesterday and I have been "spring cleaning" in preparation for the installment of my new window coverings on Friday from Black and Spiro.
This morning we went shopping to buy ingredients for hamburgers (which the kids are making!) and we couldn't believe our eyes when we went back to the car; the weather had suddenly turned nasty due to the arrival of a massive dust storm. Below are 'before and after' images taken of the backyard. The dust storm has affected much of NSW, the ACT and South Queensland.

I am kind of glad we are stuck at home though, because Big Al is quietly watching a movie, Maddy is playing quietly on the computer and I got to watch Martha and Sarah's Summer House in peace! Now, if I can just stop coughing and sneezing from all that dust!

Top 5 Foods for a Healthy Diet.
G'Day from Oz dear friends. Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting my little corner of the world!
Spring is well and truly here and summer is definitely on the way! The weekend has been warm and the pool is starting to look very inviting! We had friends over for a Mezze dinner last night and it was such a healthy and relaxing way to entertain. This morning, after a nice long sleep-in, I have been reading magazines and watching re-runs of Martha. I love this show and read her blog all of the time. She often has Dr. Andrew Weil on her show and he specializes in natural remedies for many health problems. With summer approaching (beaches...swimming...bathing suits....) I thought I would share his Top 5 Foods for a Healthy Diet.
These foods are delicious and I think even Mr Attorney, Maddy and Big Al will enjoy eating/drinking them. He suggests that we need daily helpings of:

These foods are delicious and I think even Mr Attorney, Maddy and Big Al will enjoy eating/drinking them. He suggests that we need daily helpings of:
- Dark chocolate (70%)
- Tea (green in particular)
- Whole soy foods (such as tofu, tempeh, and edamame)
- Oily fish (such as wild Alaskan salmon, sardines, and Alaskan black cod)
- Cruciferous vegetables (such as broccoli, kale, cabbage, Brussels sprouts).

Love and kindness
I love Thursdays! The weekend is just around the corner and this weekend will be especially wonderful for me as I will officially begin my long service leave. Teaching is a rewarding vocation in so many ways but it is thankless and stressful; the next few months will be a time for me to renew and to de-stress. I can't wait to spend more time with my loved ones, to practise golf, to read more books, to go to the beach, to watch more sunsets and to just be.
Best Wishes,
Natasha

Happiness is....
The kids are in bed, Mr Attorney is having a cup of tea and watching his nightly fix of "Law and Order" and I am composing this in my gorgeous new kitchen. The day was certainly a good one; the weather was warm, A filled my heart with joy with his happy grin and warm welcome when I collected him from school, Maddy won her first debate and received a 'pocket' at assembly and Mr Attorney had a great day at work. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my loved ones feel happy, supported and fulfilled. I am so glad that I have taken the time to appreciate the little but important things in my life that might have ordinarily been forgotten.

Counting down the days
Only 2 more sleeps until the school holidays! We have lots of things planned; our new curtains are being installed, M and A will be having friends over, I am going to cook up a storm in my new kitchen for my family and friends and we are going to Mooloolaba for a few days. I will have my mum and sisters (and all of the nieces and nephews) over for our "holiday" morning tea and I have a selection of new magazines to read. Oh how I love Spring break in Brisbane!
Best wishes,
Natasha In Oz.
