I can't believe that there are only 5 more sleeps 'til Christmas! Can you?
The last week has just flown by at a rapid pace. Our American friends are here, my daughter is now 13 and I am now trying to get ready for the 25th. I think my Aunt realised that I am a bit stressed at the moment and she sent me the following email to give me a laugh. Apparently it is doing the rounds all over the world and I can see why!
I hope that it gives you a bit of a laugh too! The email came from HERE.
“Good news is that I truly out did myself this year with my Christmas decorations. The bad news is that I had to take him down after two days. I had more people come screaming up to my house than ever. Great stories. But two things made me take it down.
First, the cops advised me that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by.
Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the 75 pound ladder almost killed herself putting it against my house and didn’t realize that it was fake until she climbed to the top (she was not happy). By the way, she was one of the many people who attempted to do that. My yard couldn’t take it either. I have more than a few tire tracks where people literally drove up my yard.”
Best Christmas wishes,
Natasha In Oz
Merry Christmas Natasha!
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious! It does look very real, what a crack-up. Too bad you had to take it down. At least it is good to know that there are alot of poeple who were willing to stop and help!

Merry Christmas Sweet Natashya

ReplyDeleteHi Natasha - Glad to hear your Ohio friends are warm and cozy. I live in the Cleveland area and you can let your friends know that we just got a dusting here on the westside. Not sure about the "snow belt" though. (They'll know what that means.)
ReplyDeleteThe Eastern states got slammed the past few days - up to 3 feet of snow!
Have a great Christmas!
Oh, my word. I hope someone finally dropped the camera and put the ladder back in place!!!

13 year old daughter... oh gosh!! My 7 year old behaves like a 13 year old.. Keeps me wondering... how intriguing life can be..?? ;-)
I had to laugh when I saw that post too. The sad thing is that my husband has done pretty much the exact thing himself for real(not quite so high up, thank goodnes..) I finally realized, it's just not worth it. Only the bushes get outside lights now.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun reading about what a Christmas dinner in Australia would be like. And your ice cream pudding was beautiful. I will have to try something like that, maybe I'll wait for summer here though... I have enough ice outside at the moment! (But the green/gold plate you served it on? Oh my, is that exquisite!!! Beautiful!!!)
Take care, have a wonderful Christmas! And can't wait to see what 2010 brings us all! It has been so fun getting to know you!

One time we made a dummy and tangled him up in a bicycle and put him on the side of our street and hid in the bushes...as people drove by, we pulled fishing line to move his arm... this caused BIG trouble... crying women, police, etc... but hey, we were just kids!
ReplyDeleteLove your story!
Teri
That is hysterical, but I do understand everyone's concern.
