All over blogland at the moment people are decorating their mantels for the holidays and I feel like I'm missing out because we don't have one. So, even though I don't have a mantel I am going to pretend I do a decorate a sideboard instead!
So here is a before shot of the sideboard decorated for Christmas:
(I do believe that I was watching a Jamie Oliver Christmas special that night!)
And here is the finished sideboard...Attempt 1!
Our drinks are on the antique silver platter that my husband got me last year for my birthday. I love the details around the border and on the handles.
Uh oh, you caught me watching TV again....I was watching the Barefoot Contessa this time!
The centerpiece is a Waterford crystal bowl, a beautiful wedding gift.
Yes, that is a tea towel on that dining chair....that is where my son sits!
Here is a view from the other side.
One last shot of some flowers I picked the other day in a vintage Bohemia crystal vase.
Thank you for dropping by today. Please say G'Day if you have a minute to spare-I love hearing from my bloggy friends!
Best wishes and have a safe and happy weekend,
I think you have done well Natasha. It's sometimes difficult to arrange on a console/sideboard that can be seen from both front and behind. I think your shells are lovely and they give a nice casual air to your room.

Looks good! So different once the Christmas decorations are gone :)
ReplyDeleteI have a drink trade on top of a Chinese cupboard too. I bought the rosewood cabinet when we lived in China. My tray is a wood black lacquered square and I have crystal bottles with Cognac, Armagnac, Calvados, and other "digestifs".

Hi Natasha,
ReplyDeleteI'm just coming by to say thanks for your nice comments regarding my blog post! I like your sideboard! I love to see people transition their homes for the seasons. I guess you're in summer right now. I wish we were. We got 7 inches of snow over the weekend, which is unusual for this area, so school closes, businesses close, etc. I'm ready for summer. Love the name of your blog. I can SO relate to that right now!
