Vintage Spoon Rack Makeover

G'day friends and welcome to another week! Thanks for visiting me today. I hope you can stay for 5 minutes so I can show you my Vintage Spoon Rack Makeover

A while ago I blogged about my very messy spoon drawer....

I really wanted to display these spoons but I didn't want to spend a lot of money. A couple of weekends ago when we went to look at the local antique markets I found this old spoon rack.

I decided that I would give it a quick coat of paint and pretty it up a bit!

I found some left-over sample pots from when we renovated our kitchen, mixed a few colours together with some white paint and made a pale grey colour.

And Voila! After 2 coats of paint and a little light sanding I finally have somewhere to display my spoon collection!

I am now trying to find some nice old plates to display on the other side of the painting.

I am so happy that my spoons are now on display. My daughter is making a little felt decoration for me to place at the top of the rack so that I can cover up the hook. I will hopefully be able to share pictures of her little creation soon.

Thanks again for visiting and I hope that you have a fantastic week. Be sure to check out this week's Say G'Day Linky Party for more makeover, tutorials, recipes, crafts and inspiration!

  3. The color is perfect for the silver color spoons. The photograph coloring pulls the two pieces together. Very nice!

I hope you'll drop by AtticMag this week to tour my home.

  7. Natasha,
Now you have an extra drawer to fill as well. Love what you did to the spoon rack. Have you looked for decorative hooks. Sometimes they are in framing shops and I have found some pretty designs like that.

    Happy Monday,

  12. Hi not sure how I found you, was surfing.

You are only the second person I know who collects spoons! My mum has been collecting for years and years, even now she asks me to get her one. The last one I bought her was of Titisee in Germany.

I have three beautiful cloches in the cave and I only take them out in the summer. I do love them. I think I'll bring one up and see what I can do with it.

    You've inspired me.

It is so lovely to have found you and I see from the list of comments here many of my friends think you're special too.

    Warm regards,
