I had planned to share some older pictures of our favorite beach at Mooloolaba as a picture mosaic.
Instead I am sharing some pictures of a very sad metamorphosis that has occurred in my household.
Before:
Here is a picture that I posted last week on my other blog about all of us heading to the beach for our
Easter vacation....doesn't it look relaxing!
After:
Not one but TWO very sad people with broken bones!!!!!!
What are the chances of this occurring????
Can you believe that Master A fractured 2 bones including his Ulna on Friday night at Rugby practise and then Mr Attorney decided to re-live his childhood with a game of cricket and fell over and fractured his elbow....
the very next day!
Look at my poor sad boys!
Dear little Master A has gone from this....
to this....
Did I mention that he is on school holidays....for TWO WEEKS
and
and
he cannot play football, play Mario-Cart on wii, or go swimming....for SIX WEEKS!!!
Oh well, at least my boys will have lots of spare time to help me do the Easter shopping and decorating....won't they love that!!
I sure do hope that the Easter bunny knows that we will be home this weekend and that he doesn't go to the beach to find us....I couldn't cope with even more sadness!

Best wishes for a wonderful Easter week,
This is one for the books!! I hope they don't try arm wrestling with their two good ones...(Don't repeat that!)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you'll miss the beach.
Hi Natasha. Oh the poor guys! I hope they heal very quickly and that they are not in pain. HUGS...
ReplyDeleteSandra
Oh how sad !
ReplyDeleteI'll bet YOU won't be on vacation since you will be "nursing" these poor babies.
Oh my.
ReplyDeleteOh my! And while on school holiday - what a bummer!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet visit today from Wendy's blog. So sorry to here about your spoiled beach week, I pray for a swift recovery from both your guys!
ReplyDeleteDee Dee
OMG! Poor fellows! Wish them well for me!
ReplyDeleteOh no! What a shame! I hope the patients will be feeling better soon, and that you will get a little rest for yourself. :) Thanks for sharing at MM. :)
ReplyDeleteOh no!! How terrible, Natasha. How will your hubby put on his new Rhodes & Beckett shirts????!!! You'll have to help him with his cuffs. Sorry, I shouldn't joke...I hope your two boys heal quickly. xxAnita
ReplyDeleteOh my oh my! Now that is yucky for sure! Sorry for all involved. Hope you can all find smiles in the midst of it...
ReplyDeleteI guess this is a sad example of When it Rains, It Pours! What a shame that the timing coincided with your holiday plans. Hope everyone is feeling much better soon.
ReplyDeleteHope you find some way to salvage some fun out of the week.....
Debi
Oh dear! My little gson broke a bone in his foot and is in a boot.
ReplyDeleteHis sister broke her arm the first day of summer vacation and had a cast the entire summer! It was very sad.
I feel so sorry for your boys! Hope the Easter bunny finds them and cheers them up!
Natasha, This is one for the books! What are the chances? He looks so sad and to be on break has to be tough for a 10 yr old boy! Lil Tony would find this very tough! Please let them know thoughts and prayers are sent their way!
ReplyDeleteWendy
It is bad enough to have one whiney male in the house, I can't imagine what it would be like with two! I hope they have a speedy recovery for your sake, Natasha!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry this happened.
ReplyDeleteBless their hearts! I hope they both feel better soon. What are the odds?!
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll drop by AtticMag and give JaneT some advice for her headboard to bench project.
Allison
As a boy of broken bones and father of a boy of broken bones, the worst part is being out of school so you can't show it off. Best wishes to both the broken boys. I know they'll appreciate some TLC but not too much in public, if you get my meaning.
ReplyDeleteNatasha, be careful dodging casts around there. Who would look after you? Tell them both that we are thinking about them and wishing them well. I guess they will be able to manage Easter candy with one hand.
ReplyDeleteI have to guess that the odds are pretty slim that they could both brake bones in their right arms. Do you have a lottery there? I would rush out to buy a ticket or two if I were you. I hope your vacation takes a turn for the better.
ReplyDeleteHi Natasha
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the broken bones and the stay at Home Easter. I wish the boys well for a speedy recovery. Jackie in UK
Greetings from Italy. I have come over here courtesy of Linda's News from Italy. Your blog is gorgeous, so I will be following.
ReplyDeletePoor guys :( I hope they are soon better
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence, I send best wishes to you all.
ReplyDeleteWhat are the odds???? Good luck keeping everyone happy over Easter, you'll need a beach break soon!!
ReplyDelete~Maggie~
Oh, man, talk about the best laid plans going awry... All best wishes for full and rapid recoveries!
ReplyDeleteAmanda
Oh my - I hope they both are feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteI can just imagine what the next 2 weeks will be for you and the boys.
ReplyDeleteI really feel for you!
Sometimes it seems life wants to trow us a curve for readons we will never know.
Sending you good wishes for lots of patience.
Rita
Oh poor guys. And you will be run ragged I'm sure. Good luck to all of you.
ReplyDeleteOh dear. I am sorry - and how miserable for your son. However, it is one of those ironic and strange situations you almost have to laugh at (at least I think it is) what are the chances? It is so pathetic you must laugh or little or you will certainly cry.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend whose son broke his arm while trying to balance on a basketball on their hardwood floor when he was supposed to be going out the door for church.
He just recently got his clean bill of health. He asks his Mom why so many people laugh when they find out how he broke his arm.
Happy Easter to you also Natasha.
ReplyDeleteYour poor boys! I hope the Easter Bunny treats them well. We know you are!
Thanks for the visit. Off to check out sisters 365.
Pam
Awww, that's horrible. My son broke his arm the first day of our vacation. Hope you have a wonderful Easter. Hey, I bet they use their arm as an excuse NOT to clean. (I would) :)
ReplyDeleteWhat are the chances, indeed! Hope your men-folk heal up soon, and that you'll soon be beach-bound...
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your son - what a pitiful (subject matter-wise) mosaic!
ReplyDeleteOh your poor boys! Ouch! I am so sorry, Natasha. I hope they feel better very soon....Christine
ReplyDeleteOh Dear Natasha, what an unfortunate sequence of events for the dear boy, and the precious man in your life! What a shame, especially during your holidays and that beach looks just so relaxing and inviting!!
ReplyDeleteTake care my dear, I'll see you at 'Tuesday Tea For Two' whenever you are able; meanwhile, I hope you can get a little rest and joy out of life as best you all can!
Cheers and better days ahead!
Regards from Wanda Lee @ The Plumed Pen
Oh my gosh I'm so sorry! Poor guys!
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling all to well. I broke my ankle Thanksgiving weekend and was out of commission for 2 1/2 months. I'm in physical therapy now and it's getting back to normal but it's been a long haul.
I hope your boys heal quickly!
Oh dear! Missing out on Mooloolaba AND two broken arms. Poor possums. Now you must metamorphose their casts by painting them ;-) xx and get well wishes from France
ReplyDeleteOh my how terrible! I think you will need your own vacation after waiting on these two guys:)
ReplyDeleteJoyce
Oh my! How unbelievable that this happened at the same time! I hope all of you survive ok. What a memory this will be! I hope to see you at my place one day this week when you get a moment. until later...
ReplyDeleteThat is just the stinkiest thing that could have happened! I'm so sorry!
ReplyDeleteOH NO!!!! What horrible luck. Hang in there, it can only get better from here right???

NO WAY!!!! I mean i believe you but wow! Oh no! That is terrible Natasha! I hope your little guy & your big guy heal well...I will pray for your fmaily tonight becuause I know I would feel sorry for myself for missing the beach :) So sorry to hear about the arms!
ReplyDeletePoor Master A and Mr. A. You will have to sweeten their misery with lots and lots of choc.
ReplyDeleteWell, they won't be playing rugby and cricket against New Zealand then. LOL
Have a great Easter.
We start our two weeks hols on Good Friday. We started our year later than you. I was on the Gold Coast when your school started.
Oh poor them. Perhaps a special cake to cheer them up? You could call it the Recovery Cake.
ReplyDeleteWhat a memory for the scrapbook! Woops, I mean, this is horrible. Broken/fractured arms are no fun and not really a memory one wants to be part of, BUT, I'm a srcap-aholic so I see the perfect scrap book pages for a life time of memories. Hope they are adapting.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my sweetromanticnotions. I so appriciate the visit. I want to answer your question on where do I get these wonderful cards. WOW! you name it and I'm there..All my valentines and post cards are true antiques. I own all 500+ that I have. Whew! yes, I have that many.
I buy them at antique stores, ebay, paper shows and trade with members from the National Valentine Collectors Association, which I'm a member. Not one card is a reproduction or a posted image. Isnt that cool! My earliest card to date 1865. Oh my! Here I go..I always tend to go on when it comes to Valentines! So I will stop the novel as this is for 'Comments'. hahahaha..Thanks so much Natasha..I love all your blogs!
What are the odds of that!? I am a believer that things happen for a reason, I guess you were not destined to be at the beach. I hope they both heal quickly and that your family has a wonderful Easter!
ReplyDeleteOh oh, sweet Natasha, I'm oh so sorry.. you've got me laughing out loud when looking at - and reading your first two pictures. I mean, the gorgeous seashore with the cute words ... going here for Easter break ... and then .... the second picture... Still smiling!! My oldest daughter asks, What is it, mummy? So now you've got the picture of me reading your lovely post, I want to wish you a merry happy happy Easter weekend with your family! xoxoxo And a wonderful April too !
ReplyDeletePoor guys....just enjoy your Easter and chocolate always makes one feel better!
ReplyDeleteMicki
Thanks !! Natasha !! so sweet !!
ReplyDeleteHappy eater for you and your familliy !! i follow you now...you are such a kind person !!
Blessings and hugs from me........
I assumed there must have been an accident involving both of them...not 2 separate events. How horrible to have to give up the beach for broken bones. I'm so sorry for all of you:(
ReplyDeleteOh Natasha,
ReplyDeleteThat is absolutely terrible! Two incidents in two days! And especially during holiday! What a total bummer! And that lovely beach was just waiting for you! So sorry, hope they both heal quickly! And that they don't drive you crazy in the process!!!
Kate
