Beautiful Maddy has been a wonderful help this week and she even did some Easter decorating to surprise me! She knew that I wanted to take part in Lynette's Easter decor party because I had started decorating our side table.
Alas, this is as far as I got with my easter decorating....that is until Maddy stepped in!
Have a look at what my mini-Martha did for me!
First she found all the Easter things that she could from around the house and then she set a beautiful table for dinner with our Spode Blue Italian side plates and Strachan Silverware. She thought it might be nice for Susan's Tablescape Thursday! This girl is such a decorator!
She used our vintage napkins and some other Easter decorations as napkin rings.
She then found a basket and some plastic straw and made a beautiful centre-piece for the table. Big Al didn't want to miss out on the action and offered some decorating advice!
Aren't the little Easter egg picks cute!
Didn't she do a beautiful job! She even knew where to place the silverware!
She then made this beautiful display for my cloche!
She then helped me make dinner! Yes indeed this girl is amazing! She made the dressing for this divine spinach, apple and pecan salad! I am probably breaking some blogging rules here by participating in so many linky parties but I thought this would be a great recipe to share for Foodie Friday with Michael Lee at Designs by Gollum!

I just found out that I am a finalist for the Foodie Friday Photo Contest! How exciting! Thank you Michael Lee for including me!
I am so happy!!!

The salad is made of 1/2 cup of toasted pecans, 2 sliced apples (we used Red delicious) and spinach leaves. The dressing is so easy, just mix 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and 1 teaspoon of mustard. We used dijon but wholegrain would be beautiful too. We had lots of spinach so we doubled the recipe for the dressing. It was delicious!
Can you believe how amazing my daughter is! Thank you Maddy! You saved the day!
Best wishes to you all at this beautiful time of year!

Poor men. Poor, poor men. :)

Oh, wonderful! I am so sorry about the various injuries in your family, but the decorations are FABULOUS!

The "M" in Miss M must stand for Magic, because that is what it would seem like to have a daughter do your decorating for you. She is really a budding talent!

Natasha, I know exactly what you mean about the one that is grown acting like a five year old...what is with men, anyways?
ReplyDeleteYou are very lucky to have such a good little helper in Miss M, she sounds like a real sweetie.
Love your table...are those eggs decorated with rick rack? They are adorable.
Natasha , your home is awesome!! Sometimes the grown children are more difficult than the actual five year old.

Hi Natasha,
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking about you today. Since you are entering into a different season than we are here in North America I was wondering if your Easter decorations are still in pastel, spring like colors? And thanks to your talented Miss M I can see that they are. How wonderful that she shares you interests and that she noticed something important to you was not happening. And then she made it happen. What a special young lady.
I don't know if you are breaking blog etiquette or not but I think you are brilliant for combining 4 topics into a single post. A good mom and a smart blogger al rolled into one.

Hi, thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. I tend to go overboard with my decorating! :O) I wish my 10 year old cared enough to help me decorate. I don't even think she cares if I decorate or not (much like her father!). I'm hoping the baby will be more like me! LOL! The yellow eggs are so cute! Did you make them? I like that glass compote too. (I collect them too!) Please tell her that she did a great job decorating! The salad looks good too. We're headed to the beach. Hope we don't get any broken bones before we leave! (Your pictures reminded me that I need to pack the Mario Cart). Hope they both get well soon. Have a great Easter! Hope the Easter bunny brings more chocolate.
ReplyDeleteMini Martha certainly did a great job helping you decorate and helping with the meal. Glad to hear your photo is up for a pick at Foodie Friday...way to go! Now I see the little one in the background of one of the photos watching TV. Glad to hear he is doing better and not complaining. As for your Big guy complaining like a little guy well I think that is the norm with men. I would be crying myself if I had to drive my husband around all day. You deserve a medal:)
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
Joyce
Thanks for stopping by! You have a beautiful blog! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for the injuries of your kids. But soon Peter Cottontail will jump by and bring some nice eggs. And time is running so fast and after a while the kids are again well.
ReplyDeleteWish you and your family a happy Easter.

Katherine

She did a beautiful job and the salad looks delicious. I've had way too much hospital food and food that comes in a bag. I'm ready for homemade salads again.
