But

O what a beautiful mornin!

Oh, what a beautiful mornin',

Oh, what a beautiful day.
I got a beautiful feelin'
Ev'rything's goin' my way.

All the sounds of the earth are like music,
All the sounds of the earth are like music,
The breeze is so busy it don't miss a tree,
And a ol' weepin' willer is laughin' at me.

Who better to sing this song than Hugh Jackman, the man from Oz!

  27. Things brings back memories of watching Oklahoma as a child (pre- Hugh Jackman; although I've heard he's wonderful in it). I always thought this musical was a little sad. Your mosaic is lovely. Full of peaceful, joyful morning images to me.

Thank you for a wonderful post.

  40. Well now I have the song stuck in my head! I remember this from the musical Oklahoma. I've certainly see it a few times over the years and always have that same song running through my head after. Although I think watching Hugh Jackman is a lot more enjoyable!

  43. That brings back many memories for me. We were living in Oklahoma and went to see the musical Oklahoma done outside near Tulsa. It was beautiful...they came riding in on horseback and there was a real surrey with the fringe on top. My youngest was five and I was afraid he'd get restless, but he was spellbound until toward the end when Jed got shot. He thought it was real! He was upset and I kept telling him it was make believe. Finally, the actor that played Jed came out for his curtain call and my son broke out in a huge smile and said, "Mommy, he's really alive."

  44. I haven't heard the whole song except when I saw the play way back when I was 12. He does a beautiful job! Great post!
