Welcome friends to Natasha In Oz! I'm so glad you stopped by to say G'Day today. I hope you will have time to stay for a cuppa.
Last week Marty posted about her friend who stages homes for a custom builder and she posted lots of great pictures of her beautifully "staged" kitchen. Looking at all of her pictures inspired me to do a bit of staged decorating around our home so I thought I would start with my nightstand.
A beautiful friend gave me these darling little vases for my birthday so I added some tiny roses to tie in with the pink rose embroidery on the tissue box cover.
The vases are sitting on a linen doily that I found in an Antique market a while ago. I bought 2 of them for $2.
I also added a beautiful Waterford crystal clock to my nightstand vignette. It was a wedding gift.
The lamp shade and base are from Laura Ashley and the base is made of solid brass.
The tissue box cover comes from Ireland. We bought it in Ireland at the Blarney Woolen Mills.
And here is the finished vignette!
It doesn't look this pretty all the time, though, I assure you!
Normally it looks like this.....messy.....
I always seem to be drinking tea in my bedroom! Hubby is so sweet and brings me a cup most mornings...
always served in our Spode Blue Italian china and always Yorkshire tea.
I always have a photo of my kids and my hand cream on my nightstand.
I haven't forgotten about a photo of sweet hubby...our wedding picture is hanging on the wall right near our bed!
This is the first thing I see when I wake up in the morning!
I always have magazines in the drawers, on the nightstand, on the floor, under the bed....
I am magazine nut!
Thank you for inspiring me to do a bit of a tidy up of my nightstand Marty! I know it won't stay this lovely for too long but I had fun doing it.
If you have time please also go and check out the blog I share with my sisters, 3 Sisters, 365. My sister Holly has posted a picture of the most amazing collection of tea cups that I have ever seen! They have been displayed in a most creative and unusual way....wait 'til you see it!

The little vases with the roses are so pretty and look lovely with the tissue holder. I have a silver tray on my bedside table. Most times it has a couple of paperback books and a few of my pup's dog biscuits on it.
ReplyDeleteMarty post was great last week! I just love your make over of your night stand! So pretty! The lamp shade! Oh! The tissue box and doily have my heart! Just love them! So sweet of your DH to bring you a cup of Tea each morning! I had to laugh for I sure most of our night stands look the same. If someone comes in I slide my magazine piles under the bed. lol Thank you so much for joining me again for Tea Time Tuesday. I love seeing the treasures you have in Australia! Next time you find a lovely doily, think of me! I'll send you the money! I would love to have treasure from your wonderful country. I loved this Tea! So much fun!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to tell you, blogger was messing up bad, I had to write 4 different post and your comment got deleted when I deleted the 3rd post for Tea Time Tuesday. Using inlinkz it saves the Tea Links Thank goodness! If I had used Mr. Linky all would have been lost. Just wanted you to know why your comment is not there. Again, I had so much fun seeing your wonderful treasures!
