I have just returned from a relaxing but very rainy week away at the beach. Our Spring break began with rain and it looks like it is going to end with even more rain. Apparently we have recently had the heaviest September rainfall in at least 10 years with a prediction that there is plenty more to come!

September in the Rain |
We didn't let the rainy weather spoil our beach vacation, though, and we managed to spend much of our time on the beach making sandcastles, collecting shells and relaxing.

Maddy and Big Al even made a mosaic of all their found objects for Mary's Mosaic Monday! Aren't we dedicated bloggers!

The rain also meant that we had a lots of time to visit cafes and restaurants, do some shopping and catch up on reading.

So, it would seem that Spring hasn't quite arrived yet here in Brisbane and we will be spending
September in the Rain!
Best wishes to you, my dear friends, for a beautiful week,

I love Frank Sinatra! Great selection. Hope your weather turns better soon. You gray beach pictures are actually very stunning.

Love the picture. Nice beach!
ReplyDeleteHi Natasha!
ReplyDeleteWe are overlapping a little. We are ending our days at the beach, and yours are just beginning!
What a great idea for Mosaic Monday, you are truly dedicated!
Have a wonderful week!
Have to go check your Christmas blog. I had it on my blog list, and then the whole list disappeared.
Looks like you're having a nice vaca-enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you didn't let the rain spoil your vacation. Sometimes rain at the beach makes it all that much more relaxing. Not so much worry over sun screen! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for being a part of Seasonal Sundays.

It looks like a wonderful break, even with the rain. Just being together with time off is great! I love that song too..and him! ;D
ReplyDeleteWhat great mosaics were made on the beach. Those are wonderful. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteI love your beach pictures and the neat mosaic the kids made in the sand! Maybe they taught us!
ReplyDeleteHope your rain ends soon...but what would spring be without a little rain?
xoxo

So that's where the rain went!
ReplyDeleteGlad it let up enough for you to enjoy the beach. Even under an umbrella in heavy rain I love beach.
The mosaic would make a nice permanent wall hanging - no glue at the beach, probably.
Strange, you are looking to warmer weather, and we are eagerly looking to fall relief with cooler days - amazing what a little tilt of the earth will do.
Hope you and yours have a great week.
A late spring trip to the beach how wonderful, looks like you had fun despite the weather. I guess if you have finished your teaching contract you will have a little more time to catch up. I am always amazed how you find the time to blog so much anyway!
ReplyDeleteNatasha,
ReplyDeleteSure hope you get a break from the rain soon. A little is nice, a lot is a bit of a nuisance. Does provide for some relaxing blogging time though!
Debi
Love your collage at the beach. Beach time is over for us this year! :O)
ReplyDeleteToo busy to post a song today :(. But I loved your post. Hope you had a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour beach photos are lovely. I like the cloud views! Glad you had a good time.
ReplyDeleteLovely mosaics. I've always believed that shelling was better during/after a storm. There's nothing better than building sand castles, or reading and watching the rain. Sounds like the ideal break!
ReplyDeleteOh Natasha, what a wonderful mosaic!!! Please thank Maddie and Big Al for making such a beautiful creation, and thanks for sharing it at MM. Looks like you all had a super time. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely pictures of the beach! Cathy
ReplyDeleteI hope the rainy spring means there will be fewer forest fires this year. Maybe the rain is a good omen. :)
ReplyDeleteStill looks like a wonderful time was had by all. Great mosaics.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, dear one..
ReplyDeleteI would love the beach if it were snowing. We seldom get to see one and live hundreds of miles from the nearest beach.:(
So glad you had fun.

Looks like a great time had by all even with some rain :)
ReplyDeleteEven though you had a rainy vacation, it looks as if you still had fun and a good time! Your kids creating their own mosaic with shells and sticks was so clever and fun. Visiting from Mary's party.

The Starbucks photo tickled my fancy and I love the mosaics and your mosaic of the mosaic process. What a close-knit group. It makes my heart glad.
ReplyDeleteOur June was one of the rainiest on record (it might have been the rainiest, I can't recall).
Such fabulous mosaics ... I loved them all! Looked like a great day ... despite the rain!
ReplyDeleteWe've been having some unseasonal rain up here in the north of the state as well ... very, very strange for this part of Qld at this time of year! Hope your Spring clears up a little for you.
Bonjour Natasha, I'm finally back online, so catching up with all my "virtual friends" ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame about the rain on your week off, but it does make for some very lovely photographs, the mosaic shots are really great.
Since it's the beginning of Autumn here, it really is cold, wet and windy and more to come over the next few months...at least you can look forward to spring now ;-)
Have a lovely week, Love from London xo
I'm sure you got your exercise dodging raindrops during the rainy periods. And the beach mosaic your children prepared is delightful.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you could still go to the beach. You found some wonderful shells! This is the perfect song for your post.
ReplyDeleteHi Natasha....thanks for visiting my blog, I am happy to join in on you Sunday Song this week. You selected one of my favourites...great minds think alike.
