Tuesday Tune: Edge of the Ocean by Ivy and Brain Exercises
Hello my dear friends! Welcome to Natasha In Oz! I'm so glad to stopped by to say G'day today and to spend time with me in my little corner of the world Down Under!
Before I share my favourite song of the week I just want to let you in on a little secret....this year I am turning 40! Instead of being all morose about this rather major birthday, I have decided to try to make this year my best year yet....
So, I have been making a few changes in my life; I am drinking less alcohol and less coffee and drinking more tea; I am exercising more, reading more and I am spending more time in the garden. All of these things are not only making me feel healthier physically but apparently they are also helping my brain stay healthy.
Scientists have discovered that if the brain is able to create new connections by growing more connections between brain cells, we might not lose our memories as we age, in spite of inevitable brain cell depletion. One way to keep making new connections is to keep exercising, using and looking after our brain!
I'm not going to let turning 40 get me down!

A Wintry #TuesdayTune ~ The Fleet Foxes
Hello sweet friends! Welcome to this week's #TuesdayTune.
This weekend I am happy! It is cold, there's only one more week of school and then my kids are on Winter vacation and this weekend is a long weekend for the Queen's Official Birthday, the day when the birthday of the monarch of the Commonwealth realms is officially celebrated. Australia observes the Queen's Birthday on the second Monday in June, marking it with a public holiday that also serves as the opening weekend to Australia's snow season!

If you would like to link up a song (or any other music that you have blogged about recently) to my TuesdayTune Link up, please just add the url of your particular blog post that you would like us to visit to the Linky tool below. Please feel free to use one of the Tuesday Tune buttons and to link up a song you have already linked up before.

Thanks for joining in! I can't wait to come and visit you during the week to hear your favourite songs.

Have you heard the Fleet Foxes sing?
Mentioned as one of her "Desert Island Discs" in Dawn French's 2008 autobiography Dear Fatty, the Fleet Foxes are led by vocalist/guitarist Robin Pecknold, who fashioned his band's harmony-rich sound in honor of such perennial '60s artists as Bob Dylan, Neil Young and the Beach Boys. They mix baroque pop with elements of classic rock and British folk and are most often compared to Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young and Crosby, Stills & Nash.

A British Birthday Party for my British Mum!
I actually started writing this post about my mother's birthday party last year but I just realized that I didn't hit the publish button! You see, my Mum's birthday is a couple of days before Halloween, a couple of weeks before before my birthday and two months before Christmas so it is always a crazy and very busy time of year. She never makes a fuss about her birthday so last year Mr Attorney and I decided to surprise her and have a Blighty-inspired birthday party for my very British mum!
To set the scene for the very British party we searched the house for everything and anything British to help decorate our courtyard.
#TuesdayTune ~ Sunny Day!
Welcome friends! I am so glad you stopped by to visit today as it is quite a special day for me! I am so happy to be posting a #TuesdayTune today, the first one in a quite a while.
I have really missed sharing my favourite songs with you and so I decided that it was time to post a Song again! I hope you enjoy Sunny Day, a happy and bright song that was featured in Grey's Anatomy. I thought that this would be a great song to share today as it is perfect for my friends who are enjoying warm sunny days in the Northern Hemispere and for my friends Down Under who are in the middle of Winter.

Sunny Day
written by Joy Williams and Tim Myers
I open my eyes
look to the sky
it's a sunny day
the world is looking so bright
what a surprise
it's a sunny day
oh oh oh oh oh ohooo...
Gimme Gimme Gimme Gimme what I want
I want sunshine, sunshine
Gimme Gimme Gimme cuz it's been so long
I want sunshine, sunshine
I'm feeling so free
like a summer breeze
It must be magic
I forget all my plans
put my toes in the sand
I just can't help it
oh oh ooh oh ohhh
Gimme Gimme Gimme Gimme what I want
I want sunshine, sunshine
Gimme Gimme Gimme cuz it's been so long
I want sunshine, sunshine
we're two of a kind
like blue birds singing out a simple tune
if you don't mind
it's the perfect kind of day to fall in love
with you
oh oh oh oh
perfect kind of day
oh oh oh oh
to fall in love
oh oh oh oh
with you

Whether a person is spiritual or not, we all seek to get away from the stress, anger, and anxiety of everyday life. Some people drink, do drugs, or do worse to escape, and they hurt themselves in the process. Some people listen to music and feel better. Yanni
Tuesday Tune ~ Welcome, Winter!
O Winter! ruler of the inverted year, . . . I crown thee king of intimate delights, Fireside enjoyments, home-born happiness, And all the comforts that the lowly roof Of undisturb'd Retirement, and the hours Of long uninterrupted evening, know.
William Cowper (1731 - 1800), Task (bk. IV, l. 120)

Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.
Edith Sitwell
People don’t notice whether it’s winter or summer when they’re happy.
Anton Chekhov
Let us love winter, for it is the spring of genius.
Pietro Aretino

The color of springtime is in the flowers, the color of winter is in the imagination. ~Terri Guillemets
