I've only just discovered Dara Maclean and I really love her amazing voice and her inspiring message.





Dara grew up outside Fort Worth, Texas, she was heavily influenced by the era of Motown as well by contemporaries like Adele, Natasha Bedingfield, Ray LaMontagne and Marc Broussard. In her debut album, You Got my Attention, she has also incorporated the funk and soul she grew up loving into her music.

“Suitcases,” is her debut single and in it she tells us that if we to transform our lives and make a change for good we need to shed our excess baggage, let our guard down, and open our hearts.

You carry your burdens, heavy like gravity.

Put treasures to work. Stacked up, vintage suitcases "read as a single unit of furniture, like a cabinet," says Madden. And this gorgeous grouping doesn't just stand there looking good: The family stows off-season stuff, such as holiday ornaments, in each "drawer."

    Natasha, I will get a song up asap, which might take awhile...

    I lived right outside of Fort Worth for six years before moving back to Ca. I have not heard of her before this. Thanks for sharing, she is lovely.

    This was a truly wonderful post my friend and with such a great message for all of us. I was really amazed at all the great pictures especially the one with the legs sticking out of the suitcase holding cases. Funny and inspirational. Good job. Have a great rest of the weekend.
