I don't know why Father's Day is celebrated in September over here but it sure is a great time of year to have a family gathering!
I found some yummy recipes for the party such as:
Orange and Fennel Salad via Food Network.com
Potato, spring onion, dill & cheese frittata via bbcgoodfood.com
and
Nigella's Chocolate Guinness Cake ~ nigella.com
Now, I'm not usually one to boast but I think my versions of these recipes were pretty darn yummy!
Orange and Fennel Salad
Potato, spring onion, dill & cheese frittata
Nigella's Chocolate Guinness Cake
I also served some cold cuts and fresh bread and we had a good old fashioned ploughman's lunch fit for any dad!
It was such a fun party and to top off the day, the men and boys all went to the football after lunch while the female folk stayed behind to clean up and enjoy an extra treat!
I think everyone had a great day, not just the Fathers!
Now since this is a Father's Day post, this week I have chosen to share some clips that I know Mr Attorney will enjoy. I probably won't see very much him this weekend because he and Big Al will be glued to the TV watching the Rugby World Cup!
I know that they will be watching the New Zealand games in particular because, like many people, they love watching the haka!
I'm even excited about the rugby world cup after watching all of this!
I'm even going to watch a few games too, because I just love the game. It has nothing to do with the good looking players at all...
Jonny Wilkinson ~ England
Pat McCabe ~ Australia
Yep, I just love watching Rugby!

Your versions of all the food looks FABULOUS! If you cannot find the coconut pudding & the Dream Whip to make my pie, I'll be happy to mail them to you.
We used to mail things to DH's son, who lives in Queensland, all the time.
BTW, they're expecting their 1st baby!! This will make #14 grandchild for us. ~~big smile~~
I must get busy & join Pinterest. Seems like everybody is doing it!
fondly,
Rett
Oh & we always laughed when Jeff sent his Dad a "Fathers Day" card in September. For awhile there, we didn't realize that you didn't celebrate it in a different month than us. We just thought he was mailing it LATE! LOL
