November is a great month! I love it because it is not too hot, it is when I start decorating for Christmas, it is when I celebrate my birthday and it is the month where, for a very brief time, Peonies flourish!
I love peonies and always look forward to bringing home the first blooms of the season every November.
Peonies are native to Asia, southern Europe and western North America.
The peony is named after Paeon (also spelled Paean), a student of Asclepius, the Greek god of medicine and healing. Asclepius became jealous of his pupil; Zeus saved Paeon from the wrath of Asclepius by turning him into the peony flower.
I am so happy that Peony season has finally arrived here in Australia!
Since there are quite a few buds in this bunch I think I will be enjoying the beauty of these peonies for at least two weeks!
Oh how I love peonies!
Thank you so much for visiting me today and for spending time with me today. I hope your Wednesday is wonderful and that the rest of your week is fabulous!
Don't forget to try and find some time every day to give thanks for your loved ones, your friends, the things that make your heart sing or the things that simply make you smile.

Hi Natasha. This post brought a little tear to my eye. You see today is my daughter's 7th birthday, my first born. On the day she was born my Mum and sister visited me and my baby girl in hospital and brought me the most beautiful bunch of pink peonies I've ever seen. Every time I see one or hear the name, peonies, I think of that day and the day my daughter was born. It was 3:32pm today that she came in our lives and we are so thankful for that. I hope you have a lovely birthday this week!

I love Peonies too, they bloom in May here in Kansas (United States). They smell delightful! I've always thought they were an underappreciated flower. Thank you for posting the lovely pictures.
