For this weekend's Say G'day Party, I am sharing a delicious recipe for
Decadent Double Chocolate Walnut Brownies!
The recipe was adapted from one I found on the Food Newtork Canada site. Anna Olsen (Sugar) suggests that toasting the walnuts before baking the brownies adds more dimension and flavour. I totally agree so I really recommend that you toast them! I actually just zapped mine in the microwave in burts of 30 seconds for a total of about 90 seconds and that worked really well. She also points out that the longer you bake your brownies, the “cakier” they become, so bake to your liking!

Decadent Double Chocolate Walnut Brownies
These Double Chocolate Walnut Brownies are delicious. The recipe is easy to follow and the results are perfect every time.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Unsalted butter
- 1 cup Cocoa powder
- 1 3/4 cups Sugar
- 4 Eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups All purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 2/3 cup Walnut pieces, toasted
- 2/3 cup White chocolate buds
Instructions
Preheat oven to 180 C or 350 F and grease an 8 x 11 inch baking pan. Melt butter (over stove or in microwave) and pour into a larger bowl. Sift cocoa into butter and stir in. Stir in sugar.
Add eggs to mixture, blending well after each addition. Stir in vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt (do not sift). Add to cocoa mixture and blend. Stir in walnuts.
Pour into pan and bake for 35 minutes, until firm when touched. Slice into evenly proportioned squares and enjoy! These are delicious to eat while still warm but are just as delicious and moist the next day.Recipe inspired by Anna Olsen (Sugar)
