So, in honour of the 2012 Olympics I thought I would share my favourite piece of music that was featured in the Opening Ceremony.

I loved it when Sir Steven Redgrave, the retired English rower who won gold medals at five consecutive Olympic Games from 1984 to 2000, brought the torch into the stadium then passed it to young British athletes nominated by himself and other successful British Olympians. who were each then given torches by the older British olympians.

The flame passed from the "past" to the "future" symbolising the aim of inspiring a future generation...beautiful!

I also really enjoyed the fabulous music from the opening ceremony especially one of the beautiful pieces called Underworld - Caliban's Dream featuring vocals from Alex Trimble, Only Men Aloud, Dockhead Choir, Elizabeth Roberts, Esme Smith and percussion by Dame Evelyn Glennie. You can find all of the music from the ceremony on the Official Music of the London 2012 Games Soundtrack.
