I love April because it means that the cooler temperatures of Autumn finally arrive. I am not a hot weather person (I really should be living in a much cooler part of the world shouldn't I?!) so am always happy to say goodbye to Summer! This week I have been inspired by the cooler temps to do a bit of faffing around the house and I have been trying find ways to bring elements of Autumn into our home. I've done all the usual things like adding blankets, burning candles that smell like Pumpkin Pie and finding Fall foliage.
I also decided to change my nightstand around a little so it looks a little more Autumnal.
Here are a few of the ideas and images that provided me with some styling inspiration!
The Everygirl.com has a great post on how to style a nightstand.
This is such a great rustic looking room via norskeinteriorblogger.no a Norwegian blog

For when you don't have the luxury of traditional bookshelves in a small space!

I even found a video on styling a nightstand on Elle Decor.
So, how does my nightstand look?
I have used a sweet little vintage dish that I found at our local Antique market for my jewels.
It also holds my pillow mist spray. Every night my pillow smells like lavender!
I've also used some vintage books for some added visual interest and, of course, for reading! I have grouped a collection of the works of Shakespeare and placed some lavender in a crystal bowl on top of the books. This collection was first published in 1951; Volume one contains the Histories, Volume two contains the Comedies, Volume three contains the Tragedies and Volume four contains Tragedies and Poems. I will be teaching Hamlet next term so the Tragedies and I will be great friends again for the next few months!
I have a Waterford crystal clock which was a wedding gift and my family photos on my nightstand as they are very special to me and as much as I love the stylized versions on the images above I wanted my bedside table to be personal and functional.
I love the way my nightstand works and looks now!
What do you think? Have you got a designer nightstand or is yours personalized with photos and knickknacks? I'd love to know your thoughts and if you have posted about your nightstand please leave a link in the comments so I can come visit you!
Before I go I just wanted to remind you about my invitation to join my Mother's Day group board on pinterest. If you would like to join in or learn why it's a great idea to pin to a group board on Pinterest just click the picture below.
Best wishes until next time,

Great photos Natasha, thanks for sharing. I love your new nightstand. Not too different, but you've kept the special things :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Cathy. My nightstand has had that frame on it for about 10 years now. I don't think it will be going anywhere any time soon!
DeleteBest wishes and happy weekend!
Natasha
Just so like your nightstand. Mine is a mess.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't always look this neat Mystica! Those drawers are filled with books, magazines and lots of other junk. Shhh...don't tell anyone!
DeleteHave a great weekend!
Natasha
Good Morning Natasha, I love the photos you shared with us....I would like to say that my nightstand is as beautiful.....but no.....I have a lamp, a clock and PILES AND PILES of books. I always mean to sort them out, but as soon as I have read one, it goes on the shelf then I find another to replace it! I have tried tidying it up so it looks like something out of a magazine, but it always returns to the same old style, books, books and more books....I have come to realise this is obviously my style.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
Best Wishes
Daphne
Thanks for stopping by and saying g'day Daphne! I know what you mean about books on the nightstand. I normally have a few on mine but they were hidden in one of the drawers! I'm sure it will be back to normal this time next week!
DeleteBest wishes and have a great weekend,
Natasha in Oz
How pretty, Natasha! I'm afraid that my nightstand has a fan only on it - to help me sleep at night. Very boring. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, I think personalised is always better. Having said that, I don't have any photos on it. Lamp, an old-fashioned silver phone, my grandmother's Madonna (which she used to have on her nightstand), hand cream and some books :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's funny that you're not a hot weather fan, you would have loved spring in the UK - basically the longest winter ever! ;-)
Hope you're well xo
It looks lovely Natasha. Love the idea of pillow spray. xx
ReplyDeleteGreat photos Natasha! I love the suitcase nightstand. :D
ReplyDeleteYou always have the BEST blog photos! Your blog is so deliciously beautiful! Thanks for the inspiration to go and clean up my nightstand. Who knows? I may just do a blog post on that subject too. Imitation is the best form of flattery... ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat round up! i'm pinning this one for sure!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely styling! And I love all of the examples you shared too. So many eclectic and unique ideas!
ReplyDeleteSara
I didn't know you had started your Sat. party again. GREAT
ReplyDeleteSome great inspirational photos. I am afraid my nightstand looks like a bad version of the one with stacks of books. I am not comfortable unless surrounded by books! Yours looks great with its new arrangement.
ReplyDeleteso pretty, I'm like you, all my jewelry goes in a little dish each evening. love your inspiration images!
ReplyDeleteNatasha, your bedside table looks organized and attractive. I don't keep much on mine, just a small lamp, some favorite photos, and a small tray that holds a special clock and mini boxes. Of course my iPhone recharges there each night because it also functions as my alarm. Thanks for sharing the video. It was fun! I plan to link up tomorrow. Sorry I've been MIA. ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteHi Natasha in oz!

Yours looks great!
Happy pink Saturday ♡ Tami
What a bevy of fabulous ideas!!
ReplyDeleteI have the hardest time wrapping my head around the idea that YOU are baking pumpkin pies and I'm enjoying lemon tarts and daffodils. Enjoy your perfect time of the year while I enjoy mine! April is a pretty girl...up or down.
Blessings!
Hi Natasha! Found you on the Bloglovin' Blog Party and following you via GFC and Pinterest. You got me at Oz (my favorite movie) and then when I clicked into your blog and found you were from Australia, you really had me! I would love to visit your country someday but until then I will live vicariously through you! Love this post! Would love you to visit my blog at http://www.musingsofavintagejunkie.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThose are all great nightstands
ReplyDeleteHi Natasha,
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are fabulous and also your night stand where you put all of your lovely things on. My night stand is small. As always I have a cup of water at night; African doll which I dearly love and a table lamp. Can't wait to move in to a new home where I can dress up my night stand; perhaps one day! Therefore I am pinning them for an inspiration.
Thank you so much for sharing

I love your photos of all the night stands. Isn't it amazing how many different ways you can dress up your night stand by changing a few accessories. You did a wonderful job for spring.
