Tuesday Tune: Release Your Inner Child with the Latest Evian Ad

As a child all I ever wanted to do was grow up. I thought life would be so much fun if I could stay up late, eat whatever I wanted, have my own money instead of relying on my parents....how foolish was I?!

Today I am always staying up late but wish I could go to bed early, I am always on a diet and even though I have my own money I'm always paying bills!

Sometimes I just wish that I could live the carefree life of a child...

A child who does not play is not a child, but the man who does not play has lost forever the child who lived in him. ~Pablo Neruda

Always jump in the puddles! Always skip alongside the flowers. The only fights worth fighting are the pillow and food varieties. ~Terri Guillemets

I'm sure my inner child is in there somewhere but I just have to find it. I need to stop taking everything so seriously sometimes and nourish my own needs.

I need to take time to keep my heart and mind young and vibrant!

The end of childhood is when things cease to astonish us. When the world seems familiar, when one has got used to existence, one has become an adult. ~Eugene Ionesco

So, from now on I am going to think more like a child! I'm going to skip more, get really enthusiastic about the smallest and simplest pleasures, laugh out loud, smile more, let my imagination run wild and I'm going to dance more! I'm going to move around, release a loud 'Woo Hoo' and dance like a kid!

I'm going to find and unleash my Inner Child!

  2. Great post Natasha, and, yes, I love that new Evian water baby advert! I think that when you have children growing up, you do have all these responsibilities but, you're right, we should all release our inner child more often. I find that now, being a grandma, is such a wonderful time in my life (not that I'm telling you to wish your life away!!!) but, with the little ones, you can do all the things that you did as a child, and it's wonderful, and they love it when I'm being silly. I hope that I will never be too old to feel excited about things and I hope that I will never stop being silly. Strangely enough, I wrote a sentence about that at the end of my blog post today!

  5. G'day! Today I did release my inner child - I rolled around on the grass playing with my cat and skipped to the gym. Who cares if it is not appropriate for a 59-year-old woman! However, you did get me hooked on those Evian babies :>)

  7. Great post! Tonight I had pizza for dinner and am sleeping in a tent in my parents backyard! It was hard to force myself to take tonight off from my busy adult life, but so important!

  13. I love this post! I think our kids, when we forget about all the parenting stuff really let us get to fun stuff, I mean how many adults are swinging on swings & sliding down slides unless their parents & making fun cupcakes & doing the potty dance! We are so lucky, tomorrow I'm leaving all the do this & do that behind and am really going to enjoy my daughter & my silly me! Its a top priority now, thank you! :) Michelle

  14. Hi Natasha!
What an insightful post! I really enjoyed it, I have so many of the same feelings as you... I am helped by having a 5 year old, she definitely helps me remember how to see things thru a child's eyes, and not to feel so grown up all the time! Visiting you from Give Me The Goods Monday linky party...

  15. When I was a child, my grandmother told me I was too serious, too grown up that I needed to lighten up. Now, I am truly taking her advice. My neighbor gave me a stuffed rabbit with a sign that said welcome spring as a thank you for helping him with his dog. I was told when he saw it he thought of me, 'She's so childlike. She'd appreciate this'. I took it as a compliment. I do appreciate you sharing with Home and Garden Thursday,
    Kathy
