This week I have been a busy be at home and at school. I've been grading papers, writing report cards, helping Maddy and Big Al study for exams, attending recitals, going to meetings and yesterday Mr Attorney and I had a fun day at the Winter racing Carnival here in Brisbane for Oak's Day.
Today it is my Dad's birthday so we had a party with all the family to help him him celebrate. Just look at these gorgeous kids...I just want to squeeze them all!
I have another set of marking coming in tomorrow so I think this coming week is going to be just as crazy!
I hope you don't mind then, if I get straight to this week's Say G'Day Linky party and do double features next weekend!

Poor Maddy was at home studying for her Maths and Chinese exams tomorrow! Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers this week.

I hope you don't mind then, if I get straight to this week's Say G'Day Linky party and do double features next weekend!
So, let's get this week's Say G'Day Linky Party started!
If you have been crafting, baking, planning, gardening or organising a party this week I would love it if you could share your favourite post of the week with me at this weekend's Linky Party.
You can link up a post about your favourite recipe, craft, idea, tutorial, Instagram pics, DIY projects or even your own linky parties. Just add the url of your particular blog post that you would like us to visit to the Linky tool below.

Feel free to grab the code for the Say G'day Saturday button and add that to your post so that your readers might be able to find other bloggers who would like to Say G'Day! I'd also love it if you could tweet about the party and add #SayGDayParty to your tweet!
Please note: by linking up to the Say G'day Party, you are giving me permission to use any part of your post, including pictures, in feature posts on Natasha in Oz. I may also feature your posts on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest with all credit being given to the original source.
Also, don't forget about Project Say G'day!
Can we try visiting as many people as possible and leave a really quick comment just to let our friends know that we've visited? You could say something simple like "I'm just stopping by to Say G'day from the Say G'Day Saturday Party. Have a beautiful day and see you again soon!" and then follow that blogger somewhere, somehow. I think Google+ is a great place to start and it's definitely the place to find new bloggy friends, to find enormous support, build a friendly community and of course, it will really help build your profile and help with Search Engine Optimization! To make things easier for everyone it would be wonderful if you could also turn of your word verification too! It takes such a long time to do it and I know that many people just won't comment if you have it on. I don't have it on my blog and Blogger do an amazing job filtering the nasty spammers!
Let's try and Say G'day to as many people as possible this weekend!
Before I go I just wanted to let you know that from now on I will be sending a weekly newsletter reminder about the linky party rather than an email. Some of you have already received it and provided me with some really wonderful feedback-thank you so much! If you haven't received one yet it might be in your Spam folder. If you don't want to receive the G'day from Oz newsletter it's very easy to unsubscribe by just clicking a button at the bottom of the newsletter.
I was actually inspired to start a newsletter after reading about how valuable they are from a few bloggers. Darren Rowse (Pro Blogger) wrote a very interesting article about newsletters back in 2008 entitled 8 Reasons I use Newsletters & the benefits they bring which is worth reading. Fast forward to 2013 and Carolyn from the beautiful blog Desire Empire wrote about this very same issue after attending a Digital Parents conference. She learnt that the two most important things bloggers should do to grow their blog is to use Google analytics and to have a newsletter. Well, I followed Carolyn's advice, set up a Mail Chimp account (which was surprisingly easy!) and et voila, I now have a newsletter!

Natasha,
ReplyDeleteGreat link up and so many good posts here. Thanks for inviting us!!
It was nice to receive your newsletter this morning as I thought that you skipped the Link Party this week....I usually pop over on Saturday morning...and it wasn't up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the thoughtful tips, too. There is so much to keep doing and improving....I'm not sure how you do it all with a teaching position and a very busy family life. :) I had given the newsletter some thought, but wasn't really sure how it was all that valuable for my readers. BTW....the newsletter's link was for Mother's Day....just and FYI.
Hope your week is Extraordinary, Natasha!!
Happy birthday to your dad, you are so lucky to have an extended family like that! I still miss my dad, though. The family gathering looks beautiful, I'm sure you all had a terrific time together and the weather looks great too! Except for poor Maddy who had to stay homew studying..yak!
