Home Tour: Brooke Shields’ Greenwich Village Townhouse

Welcome friends to Natasha in Oz, my little bloggy home here in Australia and to another Home Tour post.

Home Tour: Brooke Shields’ Greenwich Village Townhouse

Today's Home Tour is of Brooke Shields' divine Greenwich Village home. I love everything about it and about the lady herself.

Some even say, including myself, that my Madeleine is her Aussie twin: what do you think?

Madeleine Moore

I digress! Brooke Shield's home was featured in the March 2012 issue of Architectural Digest where she stated that she “toured brownstones all over Manhattan, looking for the one.

When she eventually saw the run-down brick townhouse that was built around 1910 in she knew she had found it.

I hope you enjoy gorgeous home as much as I do!

Friday Favorites and the Pinning Blogger of the Week.

G'day from Oz lovely friends. Welcome to another Friday Favorites post! I hope you have had a wonderful week. I am so glad it is Friday. I have gone back to work full-time for this school term and I am exhausted! I have no idea how some of you amazing ladies can work full-time, look after your kids and home and find time to blog. I have been a complete failure at blogging this week so am going to have to get myself organised!

I'm so thrilled that so many people were able to join Joanne and me at our first joint Say G'Day Saturday linky party! It was a massive success and we had a record number of links...can you believe we had 412 links? I'm still in shock every day when I think about it! Thank you SO much to everyone who joined in!

Just in case you missed checking out all of the wonderful links from last week's party here are a few of my favorites.

G'Day lovely friends and welcome to this week's Say G'day Saturday Linky Party! I am so excited about today's link up as it is the first one with my new co-host, Joanne from What's on the List.

I have truly enjoyed hosting the Say G'Day link up each Saturday and am so thrilled at seeing it grow and grow over the last few months. I am truly grateful to you, my dear friends, for helping me make this linky party so special. BUT...with the party reaching over 300 links each week I just can't keep up with it! I always wanted this party to be about YOUR projects, ideas, recipes, tutorials etc so I have always tried to share your content on Pinterest, Twitter, Google+ etc but with so many links each week I just couldn't manage it by myself. I'm so grateful to Joanne for co-hosting with me because she is just like me and is passionate about featuring other bloggers on her Pinterest boards, Facebook, Twitter and Google+.

We will BOTH be featuring our favorite posts each Friday and pinning ALL of YOUR projects, ideas, recipes, tutorials etc to the Say G'Day Saturday board here:

I have truly enjoyed hosting this link up each week and have seen it grow and grow over the last few months and for this I am truly grateful to you, my dear friends. BUT...with the party sometimes reaching close to 350 links each week I just can't keep up with it! I really wanted the Say G'day link up to be welcoming and fun and I also wanted to be able to share your talent and creativity with all of my bloggy friends on social media. I want to be able to pin as many of your projects as possible and share them on Twitter, Facebook and Google+ but I just couldn't keep up.

Tuesday Tune: 'Some Nights' by Fun.

G'day from Oz lovely friends! Welcome to this week's Tuesday Tune.

Tuesday Tune: Natasha in Oz

"Some Nights" is an older song (2012 I think) by American indie rock band Fun. I love this song because when I first heard it I loved the beat, I wanted to dance and I thought Nate Ruess the lead singer sounded just like Freddy Mercury!

The song is said to be expressing the existential angst of a young man who is far from home. Ruess explained: "I'm always thinking about, 'Who am I and why did I do something like that?' And I think then it harkens back to my family, and I have such a strong tie to them and it's always therapeutic to sing about them."

Say G'Day Saturday Linky Party {95} and an Invite to my Christmas in July Linky Party!

G'Day lovely friends and welcome to this week's Say G'day Saturday Linky Party!

I'm sure many of my bloggy friends already know that Christmas is always on mind...I even have a Christmas blog to try and keep the Christmas Spirit Alive all year long! What about you? Do you plan for Christmas months in advance and think about it all throughout the year? I'm pretty sure that heaps of people are already starting to think about the holidays, especially if Pinterest is anything to go by. My Always Thinking about Christmas boards are getting fuller by the day and I can't believe how many people are pinning festive posts on Pinterest!

This got me thinking, why not celebrate Christmas in July with a linky party so we can share and showcase all of our favourite festive posts from Christmases past; after all, Christmas is going to be here before we know it!

That's why I'm inviting you to join me for my very first
Christmas in July linky Party that I will be hosting over at my Christmas Blog!

Even though it's summer for many of my bloggy friends, it's Winter Down Under and I really need some Christmas cheer! I hope you can pretend it's cold and link up any of your old (or new!) posts that relate to Christmas; you can share recipes, projects, DIY, crafts, tutorials...anything to help us celebrate and prepare for Christmas 2014!

I've even created a fancy button that you can add to your post or add to your sidebar to help spread the some Holiday Cheer!

I'm so excited about this! I hope you can join me for my very first
Christmas in July linky party on July 25th over at my
Christmas blog!

Wordless Wednesday: A visit to Brisbane's Chinatown.

G'day from Oz, dear friends! Thanks so much for dropping by to visit me at my bloggy home, Natasha in Oz. Today I am sharing some pictures from a fun morning we spent in Brisbane's Chinatown.

Wordless Wednesday: A visit to Brisbane's Chinatown

Wordless Wednesday: A visit to Brisbane's Chinatown, Yum Cha, Dim Sum

We went for a dim sum/yum cha lunch and ate all the usual delicacies like shumai (pork dumplings), custard tarts, yam, spring rolls, sticky rice and chicken's feet! It was all delicious.

My favorite dish is the Wu Kok or yam dumplings. The outer layer is crispy and crunchy and the inside filling is made from seasoned ground pork. Yum!

Not everyone likes this but Madeleine and I LOVE braised chicken's feet! The poultry is marinated in a secret sauce that contains char siu sauce, Chinese rice wine (shaoxing), ginger, star anise and other yummy ingredients then it's deep-fried. They are then plunged into iced water to make them 'puff up' then they are braised to infuse even more flavour. They might look gross but they are SO delicious!

After we had finished eating we went to the Asian markets and stocked up on lots of Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Malaysian, Korean and Japanese products.

I love going to Chinatown in Brisbane. It's not the biggest and the best in the world but it's worth going just for the delicious foods and great supermarket. If you haven't been to your city's Chinatown for a while why not go for a visit this weekend!

Thanks so much for visiting today.

G'day lovely friends! Welcome to the first Say G'Day Saturday Linky party for the month of July!

I hope you have had a wonderful week. I've enjoyed the first week of the school holidays and my kids have relaxed and spent time doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! It has been a tough year for Madeleine but the end is in sight and in the blink of an eye she will be graduating from High School! I'm so glad I have my blog as an extra on-line record of my kid's lives. It's been incredible watching them grow up over the last few years! For some extra snippets of my life Down Under please feel free to join me on  Instagram. I'm often over there and love spending time looking at life in other parts of the world.

Here is a little review of what's been going on in my life these last couple of weeks via Instagram!
